After reading all the articles, there is basically two different ways media has covered the event. They either focus entirely on the affair that Woods had or on if and when he will return to the golf game. But even when they focus on the golf game, they recognize that he had an affair. The title follows him in every article though, he is no longer a great athlete, but he is a great athlete who has cheated on his wife.
My overall thought after reading these articles is, when will he get back on the links so that we don't have to read about his golf swing or his workout regiment. The coverage of the subject was effective, but was very drawn out, and will perhaps remain that way until the Masters in April.
Hopefully he will go out there and shut up all the nay sayers with some good old fashioned talent. Maybe then we can drop that subject and move onto news that affects us as people and not because we want to know what celebrities are doing.
My personal impression of the coverage after reading the articles is that very typically, the media only focuses on negative facts and issues. This is a private issue that has to do with that family so they should be left to handle it on their own. It has also made me wonder when Tiger will return to golf and how will he perform.
